13 Million Digit Prime Number Found

I suppose the first thing that popped into my head was, 'who cares?'

I was going to write the number out for you but figured it would take me the rest of my life to do that, so I nixed the idea.

A prime number, as I would hope you all know, is a number that is only divisible by two whole numbers, one and itself. Examples are 3, 5, 7 etc...

The group at UCLA found a prime number with 13 million digits. How in the world is that relevant to anything? Not only that, they are probably going to win $100,000 for doing so. Give me a break.

One hundred grand for an accomplishment like this? Give that money to those who really need it.

This country wastes so much money its absurd.
